DO NOT buy weapons. Req 10 Elemental Swords are only 60K now. I even bought a Req 12 Elemental Sword for 20k this weekend.

That's the whole point isn't it? You buy something for 20k and then sell it to someone else for 40. If they're happy and don't know the up-to-date prices, they'll think they've got a bargain. After all, the customer is always right! Alternatively, anything is only worth what someone ELSE is prepared to pay.
Out of interest, where did you get the elemental sword? |

This thread is one big painful read.
100k wont really get much. Something like R8 15>50 non inscribable weapons. Edit: And to the 200 ecto per week dude. Would you mind saying how you made it? Was it consistent? As in 05/06 I could only manage 1 million every 10 days so would love some tips |

Commodities like ectos and maybe armor remnants can make you some quick cash and are a better way to invest your money. eg I bought 5 ancient armor remnants for 15k and sold them one by one for ~30k. So there's 15k profit right there. Not as efficient as farming since it took longer to do. Watch what people sell things for to learn the general prices and wait for someone who's basically giving things away for cheap. It will take some time to do this and you'll need a great deal of patience but you will make money.
So, in essence, don't spend your money on one thing necessarily. Everything loses value eventually, so you have to keep up with the market. Buy things and then sell them to make more money. That's a basic theory in economics: it takes money to make money. Last edited by Kattar; Sep 28, 2007 at 02:25 PM // 14:25.. |

First take a few moments and decide what your ingame goals are. Do you have your eye on that perfect expensive weapon set? Do you want to collect minis? What about titles? Would that obsidian armor look wonderful on your Necro? Do you long to be admired as a rich and powerful power trader?
Once you know which items you want, then do the research and find out how much they will cost and start saving up for them. For me, I enjoy collecting minipets and I want every max title in the game on at least 1 character. I doubt I will ever obtain every minipet available (unless they start mass producing mini pandas sometime soon) and currently I don't have the skill needed to max all those pvp titles, but still it's something to work towards and keeps the game fun. |

I agree with some of the above posts. Buy a req 8 item.
A req 8 15^50 weapon will likely be > 100k, but you could buy other items for much less than that. For example, I've sold 2 req 8 items in the last month; a mesmer cane for 10k, and an earth staff for 15k. These were good values for the buyer and will likely increase in value as req 8 items become more rare (Tyrian r8 items don't drop, and it's very likely that Canthan r8 items also don't drop anymore - though there is not conclusive proof of either). |
